Track of the Day: “Chasing Summers” by Tiesto

As the weather gets nicer, the air warmer, and the beach more and more attractive, Tiesto’s “Chasing Summers” seems like an appropriate track to celebrate the new season.  This mega DJ is more than a legend in house music.  Climbing from humble beginings in the Netherlands where he was the third and last child from a single mother, Tiesto began his DJing career by running a small, amature mobile show around Amsterdam.  He public states that playing music “was the only thing that made him happy” when he was growing up.  He eventually transtitioned into producing music and has since exploded onto the international scene.  Tiesto has sold-out every major venue and every large-scale festival with chart-topping hits like “Dance4Life”, “Maximal Crazy”, and “Traffic”.

Below is Tiesto’s newest track “Chasing Summers”.

Track of the Day: “In My Mind” by Axwell

At this point EVERYONE knows Swedish House Mafia.  Hell they even have a vodka dedicated to their music.  Pretty cool commercial from Absolut if you haven’t seen it yet. While Swedish House Mafia as a whole is a brand name in house music, its the genius of Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso that make the trio thrive.  Unlike other DJs who obviously just have one set of hands, Swedish House Mafia has six hands working to produce unique, high-caliber effects, loops, and drops.  Other electro groups have followed this style but Swedish House Mafia was the first to pioneer the strategy.  The real beauty of seeing Swedish House Mafia live is getting to here tracks from three different artists.  Axwell specifically has been pumping out mega hits which are played nightly at clubs around the globe.
